It has been Dr. Joseph Galichia’s lifelong dream to create a place where patients could get physician care, education, diagnostic services and treatment under the same roof. Galichia purchased the building in 1998 and remodeling plans were made to transform the building, which was originally built for Met-Life’s world information headquarters. In Oct. 2000 construction began and soon new windows, walls, plumbing and electrical wiring were installed to make room for the latest medical technology and equipment. The hospital officially opened in December 2001.
With a staff of over 150 physicians—18 of which are from the Galichia Medical Group (GMED) — the hospital is committed to the concept of improved efficiency in cardiac care.
The combination of experienced surgeons, nurses, technology and a modern facility means Galichia Heart Hospital is able and ready to make patients as comfortable as possible. Dr. Galichia’s vision in which physicians could practice in a contemporary facility with the today’s best equipment, has come true. Now both patients and physicians can feel they’re a part of a five-star hotel for healthcare.
